When choosing a perfect domain name, experts suggest that you put this tip on top of your priority list: your domain and website names must be the same because practically, people will most likely to remember your website by its name and not by its URL. 1. Keep it short. Experts agree that this is one of the most effective tips that you need to seriously consider in choosing your domain name. Although you are allowed to use up to 67 characters, you can make a name out of 5-9 letters or number to promote easy recall. Take Google, MSN, Yahoo, and eBay for example. They use limited number of characters but their page views are amazing.

2. Avoid hyphenated names. Using hyphens can give you more problems that benefits. There is a huge possibility that people who verbally recommend your website to their friends and family members will forget to mention the hyphen. This might take your potential clients to other website which is likely to be your competitor.

3. Make it keyword-rich. People find websites by keying search terms or keywords on search engines. If you would like to rank better on search result page, you better make your domain name keyword-rich.

4. Make it easy to spell. Make it hassle-free for your target market to find your website online by choosing words that are easy to spell.

5. Register it using different suffixes. Safeguard your investment and prevent your competitors from copying it by registering your domain name using all suffixes possible. Don't worry; you need not maintain several websites as each domain name can point to your main page.
